Pomona Unified School District (PUSD) is a proud supporter of Service Learning and Realize The Dream movement, an initiative founded by Dr. Martin Luther King III with the goal of reaching 100 million service hours by Dr. Martin Luther King Junior’s 100th birthday in 2029.
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Downtown Pomona, PUSD students together with the City of Pomona celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month. They hosted Hispanic Heritage-themed booth activities together with Elementary through High School students, which included volunteers from Pantera Elementary, Lorbeer Middle School, Diamond Ranch High School, and Village Academy. These students promoted the Realize the Dream movement, service learning, and celebrated cultural diversity and inclusion within their community. By promoting and encouraging our community to lead with compassion and inspire our future generations to give back to their community.
PUSD Service Learning would like to thank the City of Pomona, participating schools, students, staff, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who helped make this celebration and event possible. We look forward to continuing to bring students and communities together through Service Learning and Realize The Dream.
