Dear Lorbeer Families:
It is with great pleasure that I serve as your principal of Lorbeer Middle School. I am extremely proud of all past and present students who have made Lorbeer a great school. The success of Lorbeer is not only owed to the students, but also to the teaching staff, classified personnel and committed parents. Lorbeer is a collaborative community that promotes a respectful, safe environment to enhance both academic and social success.
As I reflect, there have been many recent accomplishments that I would like to acknowledge. This year there were over 100 8th students with 3.5 GPA’s or higher with 16 students receiving 4.0 GPA’s. Our amazing robotics program, “Lorbotics” are now two-time regional finalist. Our 8th grade Math competitors took 1st place at the PUSD Math Field Day Competition, advancing to the Los Angeles County finals where they received the Bronze Medal for Problem Solving. Lorbeer students traveled to the Los Angeles County Mock Trial and out of thousands of participants a Lorbeer student won the “Courtroom Artist” award. Lorbeer students are also humanitarian, raising over $2,500 for the fight against Leukemia. We ended our year by obtaining Gold status for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS). There was a host of other top performances from our music, art and technology programs.
It is my personal goal to develop a strong parental partnership in order to provide your child with an amazing middle school experience in preparation for college and career success. As we strive for continued excellence, it my hope that together we will make this a reality for each and every student. Please join us and Be The One to make a difference.
