Accelerated Math Program

Lorbeer Middle School provides a competitive Mathematics education for students who qualify. Our accelerated math pathway allows students to start at the 7th grade by taking all of 7th grade Common Core math during 1st Semester of 7th, and part one of 8th grade math during the second semester. At the 8th grade level, students are asked to finish 8th grade math in 1st Semester and take Math I (A High School level Course) during the second semester. The goal is for students to accelerate their math learning in order to take higher level math courses when attending high school.

In addition, our students, led by math teachers Mr. Tim and Ms. Campos consistently represent, and place at the Los Angeles County Math Field Day events and Competitions, rivaling all communities both locally in the city of Diamond Bar, Pomona Unified, and across the county of Los Angeles. We look forward to competing and placing again in the near future!
