Spanish and Mandarin
Lorbeer Middle School is proud to be the middle school hub of dual language immersion at Pomona Unified School District. We support dual language immersion programs in both Spanish and in Mandarin, and offer an educational experience that fosters high levels of bilingualism, biliteracy, and cross-cultural understanding.
Expanding on dual language achievements from elementary school, our seventh and eighth graders continue to increase proficiency and develop high levels of oral fluency, literacy, and expressive and receptive language skills in English and in their target language (Spanish or Mandarin). Our students’ journey towards mastery includes the understanding and appreciation of the cultures associated with the target language, ensuring students develop the skills and confidence to thrive in a global society.
